The Bihar Public Service Commission 70th Preliminary Examination was held on Friday, 12 December 2024 at the Bapu Examination Center in Patna.
The candidates protested at the exam venue because they claimed that a question sheet had been leaked. The BPSC denied the claims, calling them unfounded rumors. The test was administered in 912 locations across the state.

After 1 PM, candidates began to complain about a leak of question papers. As more candidates joined in the protests and demanded immediate clarification, the situation grew worse. Security personnel intervened in order to control the crowd.

BPSC Refutes All Allegations
Bihar Public Service Commission in a statement called the allegations baseless and mischievous. Officials stressed that advanced monitoring systems were used to ensure exam integrity. “The claims that there was a leak of paper are unfounded. “We have implemented stringent measures to prevent malpractice,” said a BPSC representative.
Live Monitoring Using CCTV Surveillance
In order to maintain transparency, over 25,000 CCTV cameras were used to monitor the exam live. The examination was overseen by a Command Control Center located at the BPSC Headquarters. The activities of individual centers were monitored in real-time by technical teams stationed on district desks. The center superintendents are alerted immediately to any suspicious behavior such as conversations among candidates.
Command Center Measures
Officers from the Command Center closely monitored the proceedings. Investigations will be conducted into any irregularities that were recorded. The BPSC has never had a recruitment drive with so many vacancies. Attendance was lower than previous years, with 4.80 lakh candidates registered.
Examining Security Measures
The BPSC emphasized the extensive measures taken by the BPSC to maintain fairness in examinations and prevent malpractice. Officials assured the public and candidates that all allegations of misconduct will be thoroughly investigated and appropriate action taken if needed.
