According to sources in the Finance Department, the financial reforms that have been going on for the last four-five years have a wide impact behind this achievement. Under this, the state government initially stopped taking loans at high rates and then later repaid the loan by arranging funds at a lower interest rate from the open market.
It was the effect of financial reforms that Jharkhand’s budget has been surplus for the last three years. Now the state government is taking advantage of the amount left from this surplus budget. Last financial year also had a surplus budget of Rs 12 thousand crores.
Now the state government will use its own resources to continue the Mainiyaan scheme. Initially it was estimated that the government would have to arrange for an amount of about ten thousand crore rupees to continue this scheme. Now the government is saving more than this amount, so there is no possibility of any crisis from anywhere.
The state government has also succeeded in eliminating debt of about 15 thousand crores in the last three years. For this, the efforts of the then officials were also appreciated by the then Finance Minister Dr. Rameshwar Oraon. Once again, due to such efforts, the state government will be able to use the remaining amount and it will prove successful in the operation of the Mainiyaan scheme.
