Punjab PCS Eligibility
Applications for the Punjab PCS Exam 2025 are only accepted from applicants who meet the minimum requirements for age and educational background.
Education Qualification
- A bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited university or other institution is required of the candidate.
- Candidates will also be allowed to take a preliminary exam if they are pursuing a qualifying degree. When taking the Main Competitive Examination, the candidate must, however, provide documentation that they completed the degree program.
- Punjabi as one of the required or elective subjects, or any other comparable test administered in Punjabi.
Age Limit (as of 1/1/2025)
The minimum age for candidates must be 21 years old, and the maximum age shall not exceed 37 years old on January 1, 2025.
Age Relaxation: By Punjab government regulations, the upper age relaxation for the reserved category would be granted. But for the Punjab Police Service and Punjab Prisons Service, there can be no age relaxation.

Punjab PCS Selection Process
Prelims, Mains, and Interviews are the three stages of the recruitment process that will be used to choose the candidates for the various officer-level positions. Only those who have applied may take the preliminary exam; only those who pass the preliminary exam are eligible to take the main exam. Only the most competent applicants will be invited to the final phase, which consists of interviews. The final selection for open positions will take into account the marks earned in the main exam and the interview.

Punjab PCS Exam Pattern
The two papers for the Punjab PCS Prelims Exam will be administered in a single day. There are 100 general studies questions in Paper 1, and there are 80 Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) questions in Paper 2.
- The Punjab PCS Prelims Exam will not have any negative marks.
- To qualify, individuals must receive at least 40% on the CSAT exam.
- The final merit list will not include the marks earned in the preliminary exam.
