Selection Procedure for Post Office GDS Results
India In the Secondary School Examination of the 10th standard of authorized Boards, the marks earned and the conversion of grades and points to marks (described in subparagraphs iii to ix below) were combined to create the post-GDS result, which was calculated as a percentage to within four decimals. It is essential to pass every topic by the relevant approved board standards.
The marks earned in all required and elective/optional subjects (apart from extra subjects, if any) shall be used to calculate the applicant’s total marks if the Secondary School Examination of the 10th standard mark sheet contains marks or marks and Grade/Points both. This will guarantee that candidates with better scores are chosen.
If an applicant has only topic-wise grades, the following method will be used to apply the multiplying factor of 9.5 to arrive at marks for each subject (compulsory and elective subjects, but not electives).
Grade | Grade Point | Multiplication factor |
A1 | 10 | 9.5 |
A2 | 09 | 9.5 |
B1 | 08 | 9.5 |
B2 | 07 | 9.5 |
C1 | 06 | 9.5 |
C2 | 05 | 9.5 |
D | 04 | 9.5 |
