CTET Exam Syllabus for 2025 This exam will follow the same format as CTET 2024. Two papers are aligned to accommodate candidates who wish to teach at different grades. The syllabus consists of 2 papers. One is for candidates who want to be teachers in classes 1-5, and another for those who are aspiring to teach up to 8th grade.

CTET Syllabus 2025 : Know what will be the mode of CTET exam

The syllabus contains all topics necessary to help students prepare for the exam and understand the questions that will be asked. The CTET syllabus for Paper 1 and Paper 2 includes sections related to child development, pedagogy and language proficiency as well as content-specific topics such a Mathematics, Environmental Studies and Social Sciences.

The syllabus should be carefully studied and a study schedule created. It will allow them to ensure they have covered all topics in the two CTET papers, each of which contains 150 MCQs. Each correct answer is worth one mark. Incorrect answers will not receive negative marking.

CTET Syllabus 2025 Paper 1

Child Development and Pedagogy:

Concept of child development and learning.

Effect of heredity and environment.

Socialization Process: The strategies that were used to help him grow in his social area, i.e. By teachers, parents and peers

Piaget, Vygotsky, Kohlberg Theories.

Gender roles and school practice.

Language I: English/Urdu

Reading Comprehension, Grammar, and Language abilities.

Language learning principles and issues.

Learn to read, speak and write English.

Language II:

The content is similar to Language I, but focuses more on learning a second foreign language.

Mathematics:

The key domains are geometry, spatial awareness, number, addition and subtraction, as well as multiplication and division.

Knowledge of the pedagogical issues involved in teaching mathematics, logic and reasoning

Environmental Studies:

Topic relating to family, food, water, traveling, shelter, and friends.

CTET Paper 2 Syllabus

This paper is intended for teachers who want to teach grades 6 through 8. The exam is more complex, and candidates can choose between Maths and Sciences or Social Studies. The main areas of focus are:

Child Development and Pedagogy :

  • From 11 to 14, the child’s learning and development.
  • The development of knowledge, emotional and cognitive skills, problem-solving abilities, and pedagogical concerns

Language I and II

  • Paper 1 plus comprehension and principles of Language Development.
  • Mathematics and Science (for Mathematics/Science candidates)
  • Algebra, geometry, mensuration, natural phenomena, and natural resources,
  • Social Studies/Social Science (for Social Science candidates)

CTET Exam Pattern 2025

The two papers follow the same format, with 150 MCQs. They are worth 150 marks. Each section is based upon a different concept in teaching and subject expertise. The test can be taken in both Hindi and English, so candidates have the option to select the language they feel most comfortable with.

CTET Qualifying Marks

Candidates must achieve a certain percentage of marks to qualify for the CTET 2025 exam. The qualifying marks are listed below for each category.
