Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur has announced the JEE Advanced 2025 dates.JEE Advanced 2025 is scheduled to take place at test centers across the country on May 18, 2025. JEE Advanced will be conducted in two shifts according to the official schedule. Paper 1 will be held in the first shift from 9am-12pm. Shift two will take place from 2:30pm to 5:30pm. Students who apply for JEE Advanced should check their eligibility and criteria.

Criteria A1: Performance at JEE Main 2025

JEE Advanced 2025 applicants must be in the top 250,000 of all BE/BTech candidates who passed JEE Main 2025 paper 1. The percentages of students by category are GEN-EWS -10%

  • OBC-NCL – 27%
  • SC – 15%
  • ST – 7.5%
  • The remaining 40.5% is open to all

Criterion A2: Age Limit

For this, Candidates must be born after October 1, 2000. SC, ST and PwD candidates are granted a 5-year age relaxation. For this the candidates must be born after October 1, 1995.

Criterion A3: Number of Attempts

A candidate can appear for this exam a maximum of three times.

JEE Advanced 2025 Exam Dates Out : Criterion A4, Appearance in Class 12

  • For this, the candidates must have appeared for class 12th examination or its equivalent examination for the first time by 2023, 2024 or 2025. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be compulsory for this.
  • Students who have passed the class 12 or equivalent exam in 2025 are not eligible to apply for JEE Advanced.
  • The candidate who has taken the class 12 exam will be notified if the results are released on or after September 22, 22, 2021-22. In 2022, the JEE Advanced 2025 will be available.
  • If the exam board announced the results of 2021-22 prior to September 21, 2022 but the result for a specific candidate was not released, then that candidate would be ineligible to take the JEE Advanced 2025.

Criterion A5: Admission at IITs Previously

The candidates applying for an IIT should not have previously been admitted under any academic program listed in JoSAA’s Business Rules from 2024 or prior, regardless of whether the candidate has continued the programme in the past or accepted an IIT place by reporting online at the reporting center or in the past.

JEE Advanced 2025 is not open to candidates whose admissions into IITs have been cancelled.

JEE Advanced 2025 is open to candidates who have been admitted for the first time to a preparatory program in an IIT in 2024.

Candidates who have been allocated a seat at an IIT via JoSAA, but failed to report their admission or withdraw it before the final round can appear in JEE Advanced 2025.

The criteria A1-A4 also requires that candidates meet the requirements.
