The KPSC GPE provides the first step to a career with the Kerala Administrative Service. Kerala Public Service Commission has released the Kerala Administrative Services Syllabus 2024 For the Post of KAS Officer Trainee (Junior Timescale) STREAM-1, STREAM-2, STREAM-3.
The KAS 2024 syllabus and exam patterns must be read by all candidates who are interested in applying to the exam.
This will help them to understand the number of questions to be asked, the topics that will be covered, the marking scheme, etc. Candidates must be updated on the KAS Syllabus to perform well at the exam.

Exam Pattern for KAS 2024
Kerala PSC KAS exam is also conducted in three phases, as shown below. Two written tests and one interview.
1. Preliminary exam: Objective type (MCQs). 200 marks. Mains Exam: Essay/Descriptive type – 300 Marks
3. Interview/Personality Test – 50 Marks
Candidates applying for the KAS 2024 exam must pass all stages of the exam to be eligible to become KAS officers.

- The KAS Prelims Exam consists mainly of 2 papers.
- Examining is done in offline mode.
- The first and second papers will contain MCQ type questions.
- Each correct answer is worth 1 mark.

- The main examination consists of three descriptive type papers.
- No negative marks are given for incorrect answers.
- Maximum marks possible are 300.
- The exam language will be English/Malayalam.

KAS Prelims Syllabus 2024
The Kerala PSC KAS preliminary exam is held to screen candidates for the mains examination. According to the Kerala Public Service Commission (KPS), the KAS Prelims Exam consists of two paper: Paper I, and Paper II.

A. History of India and Kerala
1)Ancient Period and Medieval Period:
The main features of ancient and Medieval India, including their major landmarks (ii). Art, Culture, Literature and Architecture. (iii). Major Dynasties and their administrative system.
2) Modern Period:
The 19th and early 20th century social and religious reform movements (iii). India after independence, post independent consolidation and reorganization.
3) Kerala History:-
(i) Pre-Independence socio-political movements. Formation of Kerala State. Political parties, movements and governments. Landmark laws and policies.
