KSET 2025 January Notification – Karnataka State Eligibility Test: The date of KSET 25 will be announced soon by the Karnataka State Authority at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. KSET, or Karnataka State Eligibility Test for Lectureship, is organized by the state government to recruit Assistant Professors. A candidate who has cleared KSET qualifies for employment at various universities and colleges in Karnataka. 

However, UGC complied Ph. D holders are not required to take this exam.

KSET 2025 – Eligibility

Be sure to check all the eligibility requirements to avoid last-minute hassles. Not meeting any of the given criteria may lead to negative consequences or delays in the selection process.

Age, no bar. There is no age limit specified for KSET.

The appearing candidate must be a Master’s Degree holder or should have an equivalent degree from a UGC-recognized institution with at least 55% (50 % for SC, ST, PH, and VH)

AND

Final-year students of the Master’s program or those waiting for their results or whose final exams have been delayed are eligible to appear for KSET. However, the admission of such candidates will be provisional, and they would need to clear the Master’s with the requisite percentage to be eligible for lecturership.

IMPORTANT – If the above candidates fail to submit their Master’s Degree within 2 years, they will be disqualified from KSET.

PhD holders, having completed their Master’s by 19th September 1991, will be eligible for a 5% relaxation in the percentage criteria. However, the subject of the Master’s and KSET must be the same. The result of the PhD is not relevant to KSET.

KSET 2025 Syllabus

Paper – I  to  test Comprehension, Logical Thinking & Reasoning, and General Awareness

60 MCQs, out of which the candidate needs to answer any 50.

If the candidate answers more than 50 questions, the first 50 will be evaluated, and the marking will be done accordingly. 

Paper II is based on the subject chosen by the candidate.

50 objective-type questions carrying 2 marks each.

Paper III  also carries subject-specific questions, following the June 2010 UGC guidelines.

KSET Exam Pattern 2025

The three parts of the examination will be conducted separately. Papers I and II will be for 1 hour and 15 minutes and will carry 100 marks each. Papers III will be of 2 hours 30 minutes with a weightage of 200 marks.

Minimum Qualifying Marks are as follows:

The general category candidates should score at least 40 marks on both papers, and the total should be 50% minimum. There is a relaxation for the reserved categories, and the Physically and Visually Hanidcapped students must score at least 35 marks on each paper and the total should be minimum 45%. The SC/ST candidates have a little more relaxation, and they are required to obtain 35 marks in each paper, with a total of 40% at least.

Important 

  • Visually Impaired will be given an extra 30 minutes in the first two papers and 45 minutes extra in the third paper.
  • They can also request a scribe in a written application to the Nodal officer of their chosen examination centre. The scribe will be a graduate in a subject other than chosen by the candidate.

KSET 2025 Application Process

One can apply for KSET 2025 at http://kset.uni-mysore.ac.in/. Read the instructions carefully beforehand. The official notification is yet to be announced. The students are advised to keep checking the official website. This year, the KSET exam will be conducted in 41 subjects at 11 Nodal centres all over Karnataka. The application mode is online, and the candidates must be ready with all the required documents to ease the application process.

How to apply for Kerela SET 2025 Online

The process to apply for KSET is short and straightforward. Just visit the official website and fill in all the details like your name, qualifications, category, address, etc. Then, upload the scanned copy of the required documents. Make sure the documents are self-attested. Pay the exam fee. It is done.

Tips and Tricks to Ace KSET 2025

  1. Compile all the authentic study material and make a practical schedule.
  2. Allocate time for both papers separately.
  3. Make time to revise the topics that you have already studied.
  4. Take help or join a coaching if you need help understanding some topics.
  5. Focus on topics that carry more weight in previous year’s examinations.
  6. Give mock tests and solve sample papers.
