Each year, thousands of banking aspirants take the SBI Clerk mains exam and prelims to be shortlisted for the Junior Associate vacancies that are released. SBI announced 14191 vacancies in the year 2025-2026.
The last date to register online is the 7th of January 2025. In the official notification, the tentative exam month was also revealed. The SBI Clerk Prelims Exam is scheduled to be held in February 2025. SBI clerk Mains will take place in March/April. SBI Clerk Exam Date 2025 – Tentative Dates
This year, unlike every year’s application, lakhs of applicants submitted their SBI Clerk exam applications online. They are now waiting for the SBI Clerk Exam 2025 Date which will be announced separately as prelims and finals. Candidates who have applied for the exam must first appear in the prelims examination, tentatively scheduled for February 2025.

Preliminary exam is the first step in the selection process of SBI Clerk Recruitment. The exam is held for thousands of candidates that have applied this year. Admit cards are released seven to ten days prior to the test date. Prelims exams can take place over more than two days, and will be held in four shifts each day (depending on how many candidates apply). The prelims will only be conducted to shortlist candidates for the mains examination and marks will not be included in the final merit list.
Prelims will have 100 questions, divided into three sections: Reasoning Ability (Quantitative Aptitude), English Language and English Language. Each correct response will earn you 1 mark. For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will also be deducted. Each section has a 20-minute time limit. The exam lasts 60 minutes.
The SBI Clerk mains exam is tentatively scheduled for March-April 2025. The exam can be held on one day or on two days, depending on how many candidates have qualified for the prelims. Each day will only include 2 shifts. The final selection stage is this stage. However, a local regional language test that will qualify will follow. The final merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the Mains examination.
The questions in the SBI Clerk mains will be objective and bilingual, i.e. English & Hindi, except for the General English test. In the Objective tests, there will be negative marking of 1/4th marks for incorrect answers. The exam will last 2 hours and 40 minutes. There will be a sectional timer for each section.
