On 19th November 2024, the National Testing Agency (NTA), in conjunction with its official website, released the UGC NET 2024 notification along with registration dates as well as exam dates.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has made the UGC NET Notification 2024 pdf available for the December 2024 exam for the posts of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowships (JRF). The NTA will administer the UGC National Test Exam for JRF and eligibility to Assistant Professor in 83 subject areas in CBT mode.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the official notice at https://ugcnet.ntaonline.in/ on 19th December 2024 regarding the Subject Wise schedule of UGC – NET December 2024.

The UGC NET Exam will be conducted in computer mode on the 3rd January 2025, 6th and 7th January, 8th and 9th February, 10th March, 15th April, 16th May, 19th December, 2024. The test will be conducted in two shifts, from 9am to 12pm and from 3pm to 6pm at different exam centres across the country.

Exam Pattern

The UGC NET 2024 examination will be conducted only as a computer-based test (CBT). Online Test will be composed of two papers. Both tests will be multiple-choice, objective questions. No break will occur between the two papers.

NET Exam Details

  • Exam Mode: The test will be conducted in online CBT mode.
  • Number Of Papers: The exam will consist of two papers – Paper I and Paper II.
  • Total Number of Questions: There will be 150 questions in the exam paper. Paper I will have 50 questions and Paper II 100.
  • Types of questions: This question paper contains multiple-choice questions.
  • Language Medium: The questions will be in English or Hindi.
  • Time Duration: Paper II will last 2 hours and Paper I 1 hour.
  • Total marks: Paper I will have 100 marks, and Paper II will have 200 marks.
  • Scheme of Marking: 2 marks for each correct answer. Negative marking will not be applied to incorrect answers.
