In the RPF notification the Railway Recruitment Board mentioned important dates such as the opening and closing of the online application window and the dates for correction of application form. The official date for the exam has not yet been announced but the examination for the positions of Sub inspector and constable is expected to happen in the month of August or September 2024.
The Railway Recruitment Board hires both males and females for the position of constable and sub inspectors. There are a total of 4660 vacancies released under the RPF Recruitment notification 2024 for which sections would be made via a Computer Based test followed by Physical Efficiency Test & Physical Measurement Test and a final Document Verification. RPF Recruitment Eligibility Criteria 2024
Candidates who wish to apply for the post of either Constable or Sub Inspector in the Indian Railways must fulfill the following educational qualification and age criteria to be eligible for these posts.
Candidates need to pull the following educational qualifications for the post of Sub Inspector & and Constable.
For Sub Inspector – Candidates must at least withhold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution.
For Constable – Candidates who wish to become constables in the Indian Railways Police Force must have at least passed 10th Standard from a recognized board.Â
Age Criteria
There is an age criteria for candidates applying for the posts of both Sub Inspectors and Constables.
For Sub Inspector a candidate must be of minimum 20 years and must not exceed 28 years of age
For the position of Constable a candidate must be of minimum 18 years and must not exceed 28 years of age.
Certain age relaxation is also available to some reserved categories. The age relaxation available to various categories is as follows.

The selection procedure for Sub Inspector & Constable in Railway Police Force consists of four steps. They are :
Computer Based Test CBT – This is a test of a candidates general awareness, arithmetic, General intelligence, and reasoning.
Physical Efficiency Test PET – This test checks the candidate’s physical abilities.
Physical Measurement Test PMT – In this test a candidate chest measurements are taken to ensure that he fits into the RPF standards. This test is only conducted for male candidates.
Document Verification – The final stage of the RPF selection procedure is document verification where the candidate is called for final check of his/her original documents.
